Harold Lee Williams, 81, of Crawfordsville, died on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the United Church of Crawfordsville, with Rev. Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours began at 2 p.m., on Thursday, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family received friends from 5 until 7 p.m., on Thursday evening. Interment with military honors will be held at the Crawfordsville Cemetery, in Crawfordsville.

Williams was born on Sept. 2, 1935, in Crawfordsville, the son of Howard and Grace (Lyon) Williams. He attended school in Crawfordsville, and graduated from Wyman High School, in 1954. He was united in marriage to Catherine E. Crone on June 9, 1963, in Washington. He served in the National Guard for six years.

He owned and operated Williams Oil Company, in Crawfordsville, specializing in transmission repair. Following his retirement, he developed the Williams Golf Course, in Crawfordsville, and operated Williams Lawn Care.

He was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, water skiing, family vacations in Arkansas, and hanging out with family.

Williams is survived by his wife, Cathy Williams, of Crawfordsville; a son, Mike (Jacki) Williams, of Washington; a daughter, Amy (Jason) Wahlert, of Prairie City; four grandchildren; a brother, Bob Williams, of Crawfordsville; a sister, Marjorie Williams, of Conesville; and a sister, Fern (Lester) Bausch, of Columbus Junction.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
