LETTS — Lexee Hartsock was nearly unstoppable for the Winfield-Mt. Union girls’ basketball team on Friday night, but her performance wasn’t enough to overcome Louisa-Muscatine.

Hartsock scored 31 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked six shots before fouling out of the ballgame, but L&M did just enough to overcome her career night, knocking off the Lady Wolves 50-44. Jami Wilkerson had seven points for W-MU, including the team’s only three-point basket. Allie McArtor had two points and a team-leading 17 rebounds, and the duo of Lauren Jamison and Liana Sweezer had two points apiece.

The W-MU boys had their game tied 32-32 at halftime but a big final two quarters lifted L&M to a 70-49 win.

B.J. Rodgers led the Wolves with 23 points in the loss. Christian Gerot had seven. Graham Hagge scored six. Daunte Oepping and Mitchell Niebuhr scored four apiece. Jared Arnold had three and Cody McCreight scored two.
