The leggings, featured above, were worn by Earl C. Bain during WWI. Bain lost his life in the line of duty as a runner for the Army. It was his assignment to alert the other camps that the war was over. But the enemy had not been informed of that fact. His name is part of the Bain Hulme Legion Post (The other being John Dill Hulme). The leggings were donated to the Wayland Museum by the Dale Bain Family.
