It was an exciting day for Henry County volleyball on Thursday. Three of the four teams picked up wins on the night and the only loss came in an all-Henry County game.

Mt. Pleasant finished the first half of the Southeast Conference season at .500 when they topped Keokuk 3-1 on the road.

Keokuk won the first set 25-23 but Mt. Pleasant bounced right back to take the next three. The Panthers won the second set 25-18, the third set 26-24 and the fourth set 25-16.

Kalynn Batey led the Panthers in kills. Ashlee Menke finished the night with 26 assists and Dani Broeker had six aces as the Panthers moved to 2-2 in the SEC.

The seventh-ranked New London girls picked up their fifth sweep in a row over WACO in a game between the two SEISC South Division teams in the county. The Tigers dominated the first game 25-3 but the Warriors were able to get a little better as the night went along. New London took the second game 25-13 and the third game 25-20. Kiana Miller had a good night for WACO in the loss. She led the team with 10 kills.

Winfield-Mt. Union crushed Lone Tree in a North Division showdown. The Wolves topped the Lions 25-13, 25-7 and 25-16.

Lexee Hartsock had eight kills to lead W-MU. Pearl Krieger-Coble had a big day serving, going 20-21 with one ace just a couple hours after finishing fifth for the Wolves at the Fairfield cross-country race.
