Iola Elizabeth Neuweg, 98, West Point, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at the West Point Care Center in West Point.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point where the family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening. There will be a Daughters of Isabella Rosary at 3 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point, with Father Dennis Hoffman as celebrant. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in West Point.

Memorials may be made in her memory to Holy Trinity Catholic School or Lee County Hospice.

Born March 13, 1915 in West Point, she was the daughter of Bernard and Adele (Mudd) Fullenkamp. On Sept. 14, 1936, she married Louis Neuweg at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point, the Altar and Rosary Society, charter member of St. Ann’s Circle Daughters of Isabella, West Point American Legion Auxiliary and the West Point Garden Club. She worked as a cook for the Marquette School System. She enjoyed playing cards, cherry pies, cooking and quilting.

Survivors include her three sons, Harold (Barb) Neuweg of West Point, Glenn (Judy) Neuweg of Kirksville, Mo. and LeeRoy (Jean) Neuweg of West Point; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ann Bendlage of West Point.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Lois Ann Gregory; two sisters and four brothers.
