Irma Elizabeth Wendling, 100, Donnellson, died on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at the Donnellson Health Center in Donnellson.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson with the family meeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Franklin with the Rev.Mike Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery near Franklin.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home of Donnellson is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Born Feb. 26, 1913, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Wilhelm) Steneker. On Dec. 27, 1949, she married Ralph Wendling at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Franklin. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Franklin, where she was the organist and choir director for 64 years. She loved gardening, sewing, celebrations, music and travel.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet (Nate) Parker of Oakland, Calif. and Peg (Dave) Wendling Gerdes of Fairfax, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Elvira Bogert.
