IWC soccer shut out by Spalding

ELSAH, Ill. — The Iowa Wesleyan College women’s soccer team lost 13-0 to Spalding University and the men’s team fell by a score of 16-0 to Spalding.

The matches were played at Principia College in Elsah, Ill.

In the women’s match, IWC took 13 shots and six shots on goal, but couldn’t find the back of the net.

Hannah Maledy led the Tigers with six shots overall, including one on goal.

Caitlin O’Neil made eight saves for the Tigers.

The IWC women are now 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the SLIAC. Spalding improves to 3-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the SLIAC.

In the men’s match, the Tigers took five shots and just one on goal.

Caleb Winston made nine saves.

The IWC men fall to 0-9 on the year and are now 0-2 in the SLIAC. Spalding moves to 6-6 overall and 1-1 in the SLIAC.

Next up for IWC are Saturday’s matches at Principia College. The men start playing at 1 p.m., followed by the women’s match at 3 p.m.

The Tigers return home to host Monmouth on Wednesday.
