IWC softball sweeps Purdue North Central

The Iowa Wesleyan College softball team defeated Purdue North Central, 10-2 and 7-3, in a pair of games on Friday.

Sonja Holmes was the winning pitcher for the Tigers in game one. She allowed five hits and struck out six. She is now 7-3 on the season.

Andrea Bury was 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and an RBI in the opening game. Ashley Stube was 2-for-3 with a double.

Tory Beaver, Samantha Shepard and Ashley Myseliwiec were each 2-for-4; Beaver had an RBI and Shepard knocked in two.

In game two, Jillian Leutscher got the win on the mound; she is now 4-4 on the season.

Stube was 2-for-2 with an RIB in the nightcap, while Kristine Becks was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Shepard went 1-for-3 with a triple and three runs knocked in.

The Tigers are now 15-12 on the season. They play again on Wednesday when they host Hannibal-LaGrange University at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex. The doubleheader begins at 4 p.m.
