James F. “Jim” Ruschill, 78, Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21, at the First United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant. The Rev. Deborah Stowers will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Kimzey Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. The family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

He was born May 15, 1935, in Burlington. He was the son of Karl and Marjorie (Davey) Ruschill. He graduated from the Denmark Academy in 1953. On Sept. 5, 1953, he married Mary Ellen Riley.

He managed lumberyards for Spahn & Rose Lumber Co. He also managed the Freitag Lumber Yard in West Point. He was the owner of Ruschill Construction, and then later became a sales manager for A.O. Smith Harvestore, a grain silo company. He later returned to partner with his son Jeff in Ruschill Construction. He retired in 2000.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. While living in the Lowell area, he was a member of the Lowell Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Jeffrey (Cathy) Ruschill and Jerry (Kendra) Ruschill, all of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Sue (John) Lambert of Burlington and Robin (Brent) Lehman of New London; two sisters, Dorothy Henson of Dallas City, Ill. and Joann (Gary) Yaley of Denmark; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don Ruschill.
