Karma Kaye Ellard & Audie Crawford Ellard II

Karma Kaye Ellard, 52, and her husband, Audie Crawford Ellard II, 59, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, in a fire at their home in St. Paul.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, New London. The Rev. David Forrester will officiate. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. on Friday with the family greeting friends from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to help pay funeral expenses.

Mrs. Ellard was born Aug. 12, 1961, in Knoxville, and was the daughter of N. Wayne and Marjorie Ann Ohnemus Wilson. She attended schools in Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield and Southeast Iowa Community College. She was a registered nurse and worked in southeast Iowa. She was a member of the NRA and the Audubon Society and enjoyed feeding the birds, nature, being outside, and spending time with her family.

Mr. Ellard was born Aug. 31, 1954, in Elgin, Ill., and was the son of Audie Sr. and Amelia Theresa Wojkowski Ellard. On Sept. 7, 1981, he married Karma Kaye Wilson. He attended Catholic schools in Fox River Grove, Ill.

The couple are survived by their children, Marjorie (Adam) Wixom of Wayland, Audie (Jessica) Ellard III of Mt. Union, Willis (Mercedes) Ellard of Mt. Pleasant and Michael (Jayzinne Cherrelle Keakealaniwahinemoi) Ellard of St. Paul; and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Ellard is also survived by her mother, Marjorie Wilson of New London; sisters, Gwen (Dave) Capps of Trenton, Jean (John) Weyrick of West Burlington, Wilma (David) Evans of Coppock, Becky Hale of New London, Peggy Swank of Otley.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Mr. Ellard is also survived by two sisters, Jackie (Jack) Perkins of Pleasantville, and Millie (Jim) McFarland of Santa Fe, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
