Lawrence Leo McCoy, 84, of Liberty, Mo. passed away January 10, 2018 at his home.  Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 followed by Mass at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, Mo. Private inurnment in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. James Building Fund, Ernest Shepherd Youth Center or Northland Hospice.


Lawrence was born January 2, 1934 in Boone, Iowa to Paul Isadore and Pansy Cecilia (York) McCoy. He was a Manager for various Farmer's Co-ops before retiring. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus and St. James Catholic Church where he served on the Board for church as well as the Board for the Ernest Shepherd Youth Center.


Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and 13 siblings. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nadine; sons, Matthew I. McCoy and wife Suzanne of Liberty, Mo., Mark A. McCoy and wife Alice of Keswick, Va.; a daughter, Joan Schneider and husband Dean of Maryville, Mo.; a brother, Paul McCoy of Calimesa, Calif.; grandchildren, Anne Girdner (Joe), Joe Ensminger (Brooks), John Ensminger, Boston Schneider, Byron McCoy (Bridgett), Casie Harris (Sam) and Heather McCoy; and six great-grandchildren.


Lawrence was noted for his dedication to working hard, getting the job done. He loved the outdoors: farming, lawns, and sports. His special passion was watching his grandchildren play football, baseball, or soccer - and recently his great-grandchildren. He loved being with friends and family. Never miss a party was a family theme.
