Leonard Wester scores first NFL touchdown

Dec 13, 2017

Mt. Pleasant football made quite the impact on the National Football League on Sunday afternoon, when former Panther Leonard Wester scored his first career touchdown.

The second-year offensive lineman was lined up as an eligible receiver in a jumbo set at the two-yard line. When the ball was snapped, he sprung open in the end zone and caught a pass from Jameis Winston, which helped Tampa Bay tie the game at 21-21 in the fourth quarter.

Wester’s score was a rarity in any level of football, and will surely be remembered by Buccaneers fans for quite some time. Tampa Bay did fall in the contest, 24-21, to the Detroit Lions.
