Leroy VanDyke is becoming as much a staple at the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion as the steam engines.

And he will be back again in 2014.

VanDyke and his Country Gold performers were among the entertainers announced Wednesday afternoon at the Alive After Five gathering at Main Street Cinemas.

The reunion will be Aug. 28-Sept. 1 on the grounds in McMillan Park on the southeast edge of Mt. Pleasant.

Other Country Gold artists include Rex Allen Jr., Billy Dean and Eddy Raven Thursday, Aug. 28.

American Young and Chris Janson will be on the stage Friday, Aug. 29.

It is Craig Morgan on Saturday, Aug. 30, and The Henningsens and Steve Holy round out the entertainment card for a Sunday, Aug. 31 performance.

All shows begin at 8 p.m. and are hosted rain or shine and admission is included in the gate ticket price.

Entertainment is just a small part of the reunion. New this year is the Bob and Penny Gilchrist Traction Steam Headquarters. Ed and Lucy Hillyer of Indianola will be the grand marshals for the Thursday parade which kicks off the reunion. Once again, this year’s parade will be on Washington Street and follow the same route as last year.

Some of the other attractions at the five-day event are Midwest Electric Railway, the Log Village and antique trolley cars. Demonstrations include woodworking, rug-weaving, quilting, rail splitting, pioneer games, soap making and candle dipping.

Veterans Day is Thursday, Aug. 28. All service personnel, active and retired, will be admitted for half price and ride the Midwest Central Railroad for free.

Multi-day gate admission to the 2014 Midwest Old Threshers Reunion for $20 if purchased prior to May 31. After May 31, a multi-day gate admission is $25.

Single-day admission is $12. Kids 10 and under are admitted free. Admission includes, in addition to grandstand entertainment, access to the largest steam show in the United States, filled with traction steam engines, gas engines, antique tractors, antique cars and trucks and other live entertainment at various locations.

Tickets go on sale Monday, March 24. For more information, call 319-385-8937 or visit:
