Lower Skunk River watershed project to hold free water sampling for nitrates

The Lower Skunk River Water Quality and Soil Health Initiative Project will be having nitrate sampling days in the counties of Henry, Jefferson, Lee, and Van Buren.

The Henry County testing will be done on Thursday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Henry County USDA/NRCS Office. located at 709 South Iris St., in Mt. Pleasant.

Testing for Jefferson County will be done on Tuesday, July 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing will be done at the Jefferson County USDA/NRCS Office, located at 605 South 23rd St., in Fairfield.

The following day, on Wednesday, July 26, the Van Buren County USDA/NRCS Office will conduct nitrate testing from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at 1016 Franklin St., Keosauqua.

Nitrate testing will be held in Lee County on Thursday, July 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Lee County USDA/NRCS Office at 503 Elm St., in Donnellson.
