Michael Timothy “Red” Malone, 58, New London, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at his home

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at Elliott Chapel, New London. the Rev. Rod Cooper will officiate. Burial will be held in Burge Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held after 9 a.m. on Saturday with the family greeting friends one hour prior to the service. A memorial has been established.

He was born Aug. 28, 1954, in Memphis, Mo., the son of Stewart and Lynne Elaine Carroll Malone. On March 27, 1973, he married Mary Ellen Parrish in Kahoka, Mo. He worked on the assembly line at JI Case in Burlington for 35 years, retiring in 2009. He attended schools in Memphis and was of the Christian faith. He was a member of UAW Local 807. He enjoyed Nascar, fishing, tinkering with vehicles, and watching football.

He is survived by his wife of New London; three sons, Jason (Robin) Malone and Jarrod (Andrea) Malone, both of Mt. Pleasant, and Justin Malone of New London; his mother of Quincy, Ill.; five grandchildren; three sisters; Terri Carter of Arlington, Texas, Pat Blake of Quincy, Ill., and Tracey Smith of Memphis, Mo; and one brother, Tony Malone of Arlington, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father.
