MP bowlers split with L&M

LETTS — The Mt. Pleasant bowling teams traveled to Letts on Saturday to take on Louisa-Muscatine. The boys’ team won 2,052-1,872 and the girls’ team lost 2,746-1,889.

The Panther boys were led by Tristin Dirth, who shot a 170 in his first game and a 181 in his second game to finish at 351. Levi Mills rolled a 150 and a 191 to total out at 341.

Mark Steinhoff scored a 149 in the first game and a 145 in the second game to end the round at 294. Sam Anderson rolled a 160 and a 114 for a total of 274, and Payton Loval rolled a 72 and a 62 to finish at 134.

The baker games for the boys’ team went 170, 126, 108, 138 and 116.

Blaine Bowman led the junior varsity boys with 216 (131 and 85). Clayton Wilson bowled a 140 (80 and 60), and Ben Baccam threw just one game, ending at 411. Bowman and Wilson shot five baker games, which went 101, 85, 72, 97 and 102.

The varsity girls were led by Kelsey Hummell, who threw a 144 in her first game and a 161 in her second game to finish at 305. Emily Shumaker threw a 139 and a 131 to end the round at 270.

Alexis Wohlleber bowled a 118 and a 122 to finish at 240. Gillian Anderson rolled a 78 and a 128 to end at 206. Brittany Triska rolled a 101 and a 99 to finish at 200, and Tylisa Kelley rolled a 135 and 60 to finish at 195.

The varsity girls’ bowling games were all pretty consistant. The five games finished at 137, 125, 138, 132 and 136.

The junior varsity girls were led by Meadow Jensen, who rolled a 108 and a 70 to finish at 178. Rachel Kuckes bowled an 81 in both rounds to finish at 162. Alex Hedgecock shot a 68 and a 70 to end the round at 138, and Arlouny Phosy bowled a 59 and a 54 to finish at 113.

The junior varsity girls rolled five baker games as well. The games went 93, 76, 103, 93 and 88.
