MP boys’ tennis falls to Ft. Madison

Apr 29, 2013

FT. MADISON — The Mt. Pleasant boys’ tennis team played the same team and got the same results, but Coach Tyler Rodgers saw improvement.

The Panthers fell, 6-3, against Ft. Madison last week Monday at East Lake Park, and on Friday the Bloodhounds bested them once again by a score of 6-3.

“I was still proud of the MP players for their sportsmanship,” Rodgers said. “Same result as Monday, but we seemed to play them closer (Friday) night.”

Chase Higginbotham won his singles match (6-1, 6-1), and Zach Schmitz also picked up a singles win (7-6, 6-4). The pair then teamed up to win their doubles match (6-1, 6-2).

The Panthers are now 4-4 on the season and they host Keokuk today (Monday) at 4:30 p.m. at East Lake Park.
