MP Police disposing of unused meds for National RX Collection Day

Oct 24, 2017

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department is participating in National RX Collection Day sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The police department will be accepting unused or expired prescription drugs or over the counter medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Drugs can be accepted in their original containers. The labels do not need to be removed for disposal.

Veterinary drugs, both prescription and over the counter medications, will be accepted.

Preloaded syringes will be accepted as long as the needle has been removed before arrival.

Needles (sharps) or inhalers will not be accepted.

National RX Collection Day is a reminder to dispose of your unused medications in a safe manner.
