FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield softball team held Mt. Pleasant scoreless through both games of a conference doubleheader on Monday night, winning by scores of 12-0 and 6-0.

Five different Panthers had one hit each in the opener, but they couldn’t manufacture a run. Morgan Fraise, Jena Stukerjurgen, Sarah Moffett, Ali Dorn and Brianna Shelman each went 1-for-3.

Kaley White walked and Allison Buckert had a sacrifice bunt.

Mt. Pleasant was held to just one hit by Fraise in game two. Shelman — the courtesy runner for Fraise, the catcher — stole a base.

Cali Liechty took the loss on the mound in game one, going all six innings, and Stukerjurgen took the loss in the three-inning nightcap.

The Panthers are now 9-27 overall and 2-12 in the Southeast Conference.

They play a doubleheader tonight at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex against Centerville, making up games from a rainout earlier this season. Game one starts at 5 p.m.
