FT. MADISON — The Mt. Pleasant volleyball team had a tough time containing Ft. Madison in a Southeast Conference showdown on Tuesday night. The Panthers fell in three straight to the Bloodhounds, who have yet to lose even one set in an SEC game.

Mt. Pleasant had their closest game of the night in the first set. The Panthers put a little pressure on the Bloodhounds but wound up losing 25-19.

Ft. Madison pulled away a little more each game. The Bloodhounds won 25-15 in the second set and took the third set 25-12.

The biggest problem for Mt. Pleasant was Bloodhound star Amber Dilsaver. The senior had 16 kills on the night in just 25 attack attemps and also sprinkled in a couple of aces.

Mt. Pleasant fell to 8-10 with the loss and 2-3 in the SEC. They’ll have one more game against each of their other conference rivals before the season is done.

The Panthers will travel to Burlington on Saturday, Sept. 23, for a tournament, before coming back home on Tuesday, Sept. 26, where they will take on Fairfield at 7:30 p.m.

The Panther freshman team also lost to Ft. Madison on Tuesday night, falling in two sets.

Mt. Pleasant’s junior varsity team did come back with a win, defeating Ft. Madison 25-15 and 25-19 to bring home the 2-0 victory.
