MP’s deer bow season is now open

Oct 04, 2017

The bow season to hunt deer in the City of Mt. Pleasant is open now through Jan. 10, 2018.

Those interested in hunting deer within the city limits of Mt. Pleasant may pick up a copy of the rules and regulations at the Mt. Pleasant Police Department or at Big Creek Outdoors, located at 1751 Oakland Mills Rd., in Mt. Pleasant.

To bow hunt deer within city limits, hunters must be 18 years of age and possess a State of Iowa hunting license and a City of Mt. Pleasant bow hunting permit. To obtain a city permit, hunters will need to pass a proficiency test, which is administered at Big Creek Outdoors. Hunters will be able to obtain their Iowa hunting license and City of Mt. Pleasant bow permit at this location as well. The city permit is a special issued permit valid only within city limits of Mt. Pleasant. This permit does not affect a hunter’s ability to purchase any other state deer hunting licenses.

For questions, contact the Mt. Pleasant Police Department at 319-385-1450.
