CENTERVILLE — The Mt. Pleasant basketball teams swept up Centerville on Thursday night.

The Panther girls and boys both picked up wins. The girls won, 50-26, and the fourth-ranked boys won, 69-51.

The girls’ team cruised to a 24-point win to their fourth game in five tries. Maddie Williamson, Kalynn Batey and Sarah Moffett all reached double digits in the win. Williamson finished with 13 points. Batey had 12, and Moffett had 10.

The MPCHS boys won every quarter in their 18-point win, despite playing without senior big man Tom O’Connor who is temporarily out with a sprained ankle.

The Panthers led, 36-23, at halftime but the Big Reds did hang with Mt. Pleasant, only allowing the Panthers to win the second half, 33-28.

Colin Mulford was red hot in the game. He was 6-8 from three-point land to lead the team with 18 points, all coming from beyond the arc. He also led the team on the boards, with eight rebounds.

Brady Sartorius had a double-double, with 14 points and 10 assists. He also co-led the team with three steals.

Jordan Magnani finished with 12 points and three steals. Kieran Kohorst had nine points and three steals. Brody McGhghy had nine points. Maison Ashton scored five and Jonathan Ita, who started in place of the injured O’Connor, finished with two.
