Mt. Pleasant bowlers split with Washington

WASHINGTON — The Mt. Pleasant wrestl ing team traveled to Washington on Saturday and picked up a split with the rival Demons. The boys’ team cruised to a 2,280-1,729 win and the girls fell in a tight one, 2,073-1,997.

The boys’ team was led by Mark Steinhoff, who rolled a 362. He broke the 200 mark with a 209 first round, and added a 153 in his second game. Ethan Oilar rolled a 172 and a 150 to finish at 322, and Sam Anderson rolled a 150 and 153 to score a 303.

Levi Mills picked up a 142 in the first round and a 144 in the second round to finish the day at 286. Tristan Dirth rolled a 135 and a 126 to finish at 261, and Brandon Parton rolled a 115 and a 136 to score 251.

Baker games for the varsity boys went 151, 127, 155, 171 and 142 to equal out at 746.

The varsity girls’ team was led by Emily Shumaker. She rolled a 147 and a 145 to lead the way with 292. Gillian Anderson rolled a 276, throwing 124 in her first game and 152 in her second, and Alexis Wohlleber rolled a 145 and a 129 to finish just behind Anderson with 274.

Kelsey Hummell rolled a 107 and a 126 to finish up at 233. Tylisa Kelley rolled a 111 and an 98 to score a 209, and Brittany Triska bowled an 83 by 85 to finish at 168.

The Panther girls’ baker games went 175, 166, 125, 131 and 116 to score 713.

The junior varsity team was led by Arlouny Phosy with a 250 (107, 143). Kalib Wilson rolled a 236 (128, 108). Alex Hedgecock bowled a 209 (109, 100), and Rachel Kuckes scored a 153 (75, 78).

The JV team’s baker games rolled off 112, 72, 129, 108 and 98, to finish up at 519.
