FT. MADISON — Everything was clicking for the Mt. Pleasant boys’ soccer team on Friday evening. The Panthers picked up another Southeast Conference victory, topping the Bloodhounds 5-1.

The first half of the game was a defensive struggle, with just one score in the first 40 minutes. Jadyn Vongsavath had the opening goal, scoring off an assist from Noel Lopez.

Cade Warner and Paris Chounlamny went back-to-back with goals in the second half of the contest. The fourth Panther goal came from Ovidio Reyes, with an assist from Kyle Medina.

The final goal of the day went to Payton Kelly. He scored off a corner kick from David Blancas. Logan Lee picked up his first win of the year in goal, allowing just one goal.

The junior varsity team won 2-0. Goals came from Reyes and Logan White. Lee was in net in the first half with Reyes taking over in the second half. The two combined for a shutout.

The Panthers moved to 7-3 on the year with the win, including a 5-1 conference record. They’ll be at Marion today (Monday) for a non-conference showdown, starting at 4:30 p.m.
