BLOOMFIELD — The Mt. Pleasant boys’ tennis team swept Davis County in a road meet on Thursday, winning by a score of 9-0.

In the No. 1 singles match, Zach Schmitz defeated Dillon Garrett by a score of 8-1, and Matt Zihlman took down Seth Mitchell, 8-4, in the No. 2 singles match.

Blake Wickham topped Coty Good by a score of 8-4 as well, and Colton Schinstock claimed an 8-2 victory over Ben Davidson.

In No. 5 singles, Tyler Pace defeated Bryce Vinyard, 8-1, and Austin Meyer won against Dillon Bragg, 8-3.

In doubles play, Schmitz and Pace defeated Garrett and Mitchell by a score of 8-2, and in a hard-fought No. 2 doubles match, Schinstock and Meyer defeated Vinyard and Colson Whisler by a score of 9-7.

Zihlman and Wickham beat Stone Sample and Clayton Wagner in No. 3 doubles play, 8-0.

The Panthers are now 2-0 on the season and play Tuesday at Centerville.

The Mt. Pleasant girls’ tennis meet against Davis County, which was scheduled to be yesterday at East Lake Park, was postponed.
