A prisoner from the Henry County Jail failed to report back to the jail after his work release Friday, Aug. 3.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement request that anyone from the public call 911 or the Sheriff’s Office at 319-385-2712 if the suspect, Ty Vaughn, is spotted.

Vaughn, 39, is white, 5’ 8” tall, weighing 170 pounds with hazel eyes and multiple tattoos.

Vaughn’s original charges include domestic assault, interference with official acts and assault on law enforcement.

Vaughn was granted work release from the Henry County magistrate. He works locally.

Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee said that work releases is a very vulnerable position. “We try to keep an eye on people, but we can’t stand and watch them work for 12 hours,” he said.

All suspects are to be considered armed and dangerous. The Sheriff’s Office asks that no one attempt to apprehend or detain a suspect by themselves.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
