Park work to be completed Oct. 25

Oct 04, 2013

Weather permitting, most of the construction work in Central Park and the surrounding area should be finished by Oct. 25, according to Warner Engineering Associates, Inc., engineer for the project.

Mike Nelson Concrete, general contractor for the project, plans to finish pouring the perimeter sidewalk by Oct. 11, weather permitting. On Monday, Oct. 14, plans are to stripe all parking stalls around the square.

Traffic will be reversed around the square Tuesday, Oct. 15, to clockwise and parking will allowed around the interior of the square. The milling contractor will be mobilizing its crew either Oct. 15 or Oct. 16 to shape the remaining side of street surface to blend in with milling, asphalt overlay and some concrete patching.

Nelson will be finishing the interior of the square sidewalk beginning Oct. 14.

Following the pouring of the square sidewalk, the only remaining work is grading, seeding and street light installation.
