Patricia “Pat” I. Triska, 85, of Boone, died on Friday, Jan. 20, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home, in Boone.

Friends called at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home, located at 609 Seventh St., in Boone, on Monday, Jan. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., with the family present. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 10:30 a.m., at Grace Episcopal Church, located at 707 Eighth Street, in Boone, with Bishop Alan Scarfe and Rev. Tom Gehlsen officiating. Burial was in Squire Boone Cemetery, in rural Boone.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion. Online condolences may be left at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Triska was born on Oct. 10, 1931, in Prescott, Ariz., the daughter of John W. and Thelma (DeCoria) Moxley. She attended Salem High School, graduating in 1949. She went on to nurse’s training at Mercy Hospital, in Burlington. She married William G. Triska on July 9, 1950, in Salem. He preceded her in death.

After her husband’s death, she returned to nursing school at Des Moines Area Community College, graduating in 1989. She worked for several years at the Evangelical Free Church Home. She also worked as Head Chaplain at Boone County Hospital for many years.

She enjoyed reading, following the St. Louis Cardinals, and attending her grandchildren’s events.

She was active in the Episcopal Church.

Triska is survived by her son, Mike (Jackie) Triska, of Cook, Minn.; and her daughter, Julie (Craig) Eppert, of rural Madrid; as well as several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her sister, Kathleen Barney Kasowski; and a grandson.
