Paul Sanders Patton, 79, West Point, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Donnellson Health Center, Donnellson.

Friends may call after noon Sunday, May 5, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point where family will meet with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. that afternoon. A Christian Wake service will be held at 3 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 6, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point with Father Dennis Hoffman as celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in West Point with full military rites presented by the Holtz-Geers American Legion Post 668.

A memorial has been established.

Born May 18, 1933, in Oakville, he was the son of Joseph and Frances Adele (Heffner) Patton. On Oct. 21, 1952, he married Dolores Grossekemper in St. Paul. She preceded him in death.

He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point and the Holtz Geers American Legion Post 668 of West Point. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and then the West Point Mill. He enjoyed reading and watching Westerns.

Survivors include two sons, Paul J. (Joyce) Patton of West Point, and Larry (Colette) Patton of West Point; three daughters, Darlene (Ed) Francy of New London, Wanda Coleman of Woodstock, Ga., and Janet Farris of Salem; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Flora Odom of Denmark, Ruth Richardson of West Point, and Charlene Phillips of Sperry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Wayne and Roland; one granddaughter; one sister, Martha; and three brothers, Joe, Art and Robert.
