Raymond Maurice Huff

Raymond Maurice Huff, 100, of Fairfield, died on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at the Jefferson County Health Center.

In accordance with his wishes, his body has been donated to science. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Pedrick Funeral Home, in Keosauqua, is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Keosauqua Lions Club, Zion Bible Church, or the Fairfield First United Methodist Church Music Endowment Fund, which may be mailed to the family at 2680 205th Street, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Huff was born on Jan. 25, 1917, in Harrisburg Township, in Van Buren County, the son of Harry and Orabelle Pettit Huff. He married Mary Reva Williams on Aug. 16, 1941. She preceded him in death. He then married Glenna Stecker, of Hillsboro, in 1996.

He was a heavy equipment operator, working on improve farms in Jefferson and Van Buren counties.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending church, traveling, music, CAT hats, discussing lived history with friends and family, and spending time with his family and friends.

Huff is survived by his wife, Glenna; four sons, Philip (Nan) Huff, of Fairfield, Daniel (Ann)Huff, of Chapel Hill, N.C., Jonathan (Patti Balderson) Huff, of Fairfield, and David (Karen) Huff, of San Francisco, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Reva; a brother, Howard; and a sister, Marjorie.
