Richard A. (Dick) Johnson

Richard A. (Dick) Johnson passed away on December 18, 2017 in Eugene, Ore.


He was the son of Richard Wayne Johnson and Darline Johnson Taylor and was born in Burlington, Iowa on March 18, 1942. His family moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1952. Dick graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and Iowa Wesleyan College. In 1964, he married Juana Mary Martinez of Fort Madison, and they had a son and a daughter.


Being adventurous, they moved to Peru, South America in 1975 and Dick took a job with Evergreen Helicopter. A year later, they returned to the U.S. in McMinnville, Ore.

Dick was hired as Financial Analyst for Aramco Oil Corp. and in 1978, the family relocated to Saudi Arabia.  During his tenure with Aramco, they became world travelers. After 25 years, Dick retired and re-settled his family back in Eugene, Ore.

He leaves behind his wife of 53 years; son, Christopher Eric; daughter, Melissa Kay; and his older sister, Karin Goodwin of Danville, Calif.
