Robbery suspect still at large

Police are still searching for the man who robbed Mt. Pleasant's U.S. Bank Friday afternoon.

Lt. Lyle Murray with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department told the News the robbery suspect is still at large.

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery at the U.S. Bank, located at 301 E. Washington St., in Mt. Pleasant at approximately 11:45 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 14.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money, according to a press release. No weapon was displayed during the robbery. Six employees were in the bank at the time of the incident.

The suspect, who was identified on the scanner as a Hispanic male, approximately 5'2" fled the scene and was last seen driving north in a white Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Mt. Pleasant schools were placed on a lock-down following the incident.

Officers are investigating the incident and ask that anyone with tips or information contact the Mt. Pleasant Police Department at 319-385-1450.

U.S. Bank has been closed at this time and customers are being directed to the U.S. Bank in Burlington, located at 808 S. Roosevelt Ave.
