Robert C. Barker, 81, of Keosauqua, died on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City.

Funeral services were held be at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at Pedrick Funeral Home, in Keosauqua, with Larry Shipley officiating. Visitation with the family was held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial was in Miller Chapel Cemetery, northeast of Keosauqua.

Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 24843 170th Street, Keosauqua, Iowa 52565.

Barker was born March 4, 1935, in Keosauqua, the son of Kenneth and Cecile Miller Barker. He served in the National Guard. He graduated from Stockport High School in 1955. He married Sandra Lynn Lane on Aug. 16, 1970, in the Little Brown Church, in Nashua.

He spent all of his adult life in Van Buren County on the farm.

He enjoyed hunting and farming.

Barker is survived by his wife, Sandra, of Keosauqua; a daughter, Christin "Christy" Ann Barker Wiley, of Keosauqua; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
