Robert R. “Bob” Rohdy, 92, Farmington, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the Donnellson Health Center.

Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 13, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Donnellson with the Rev. Dean Moberg officiating.

Burial will follow at the Primrose Cemetery in rural Primrose. There will be a flag presentation by the Farmington American Legion.

Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home of Farmington is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Born May 12, 1921, in Farmington, he was the son of Grover and Hazel Grimm Rohdy. On April 20, 1944, he married Carolyn Lucille Forgrave. She preceded him in death.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Donnellson and a member of the Farmington American Legion. He was a 1939 graduate of Farmington High School. He served in the United States Army Air Force in World War II as a Staff Sergeant. He was a farmer and a mechanic. He rode RAGBRAI for 10 years. He enjoyed fixing things.

He is survived by his children, Margaret Rohdy of Philadelphia, Pa., Kathleen (Arthur) Steed of Denver, Colo.; his grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Rohdy of Farmington, and Don (Alice) Rohdy of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.; three sisters, Helen Hennies of Ft. Madison, Jean (Paul) Grossman of Farmington and Betty (Bud) Jury of Farmington.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Daniel Robert Rohdy; one brother, Charles Rohdy; and one sister, Ruth Hennies.
