Schlatter, Loyd show champion, reserve lambs

Briana-Sue Schlatter and Brady Loyd took home the top prizes in the fair sheep show. Schlatter showed the grand champion market lamb and Loyd had the reserve.

Schlatter also added the senior showmanship trophy to her winnings. Sarah Cross copped the intermediate showmanship and Carter Loyd was the to junior showman.

In the other classifications, C. Loyd had the Scounty-born champion and Schlatter the home-born champion. B. Loyd’s sheep was the heavyweight champion and Molly Miller had the reserve. In the mediumweight competition, Schlatter was first followed by Miller. Madie Anderson showed the lightweight champion and Schlatter the reserve in that class.

The championship trophy in the speckled-white face class went to C. Loyd. Abigail Miller’s lamb was runner-up.

Kalli Messer had the grand champion rate-of-gain lamb. In fact Messer had the top five rate-of-gain lambs.

The remaining championship went to Schlatter for showing the grand champion breeding ewe.

Following are the ribbon recipients in the various classifications:

Commercial ewe — purple, Shayla Seils, Abigail Miller, Maddie Anderson, Elijah McGohan, Sarah Cross, Brady Loyd and Briana-Sue Schlatter; blues, Eli Miller, Shayla Seils, Briana-Sue Schlatter and Elijah McGohan; red, Molly Miller, Kalli Messer.

Yearling ewes — purple, Kyle Moeller; blue, Kyle Moeller.

Speckled/white face — purple, Abigail Miller, Carter Loyd; blue, Molly Miller, Eli Miller and Kalli Messer; red, Allen Bonnese.

Black face — lightweight division, purple, Briana-Sue Schlatter (2), Sarah Cross (2) Madie Anderson; blue, Shayla Seils and Kalli Messer; mediumweight division, purple, Carter Loyd, Briana-Sue Schlatter (2), Brady Loyd and Molly Miller; red, Kalli Messer; heavyweight division, purple, Brady Loyd, Kalli Messer (2), Molly Miller and Madie Anderson; blue, Eli Miller, Elijah McGohan (2) and Kallie Messer; red, Allen Bonnesen.

Rate of gain (order of finish) — Kalli Messer 1-5; Eli Miller, 6-7; Allen Bonnesen, 8; Molly Miller, 9, and Abigail, 10.
