Slam poet to give free performance at Iowa Wesleyan College

Apr 22, 2014

Slam Poet, Odd?Rod, will present a free performance on Wednesday, April 23, at 8p.m. in the Iowa Wesleyan College Chapel Auditorium.
Born to a drug-addicted mother and an absent father, Odd?Rod’s humble beginnings have turned into the very tool needed to save and inspire communities across northeast Florida.
He continues to speak at local elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, colleges, rehabilitation centers and jails. The audience identifies with his poetry.
Odd?Rod has released three biographical poetic chapbooks, written/acted in three crime prevention commercials and voiced-over an NFL Jaguars commercial.
In December of 2009, he released his debut CD “The Art of Plain English” and a children’s book dedicated to promoting diversity “Buddy and Bird.”
In 2012 he released his follow-up album “More than just a Poet” where he removed profanity in his poetry. Now, touring since 2011, Odd?Rod has covered well over 70 college campuses with his story. His dedication to the stage and performing are aligned with his passion to inspire, involve and entertain his audience through his own reality.
The show is free and open to the public.
