South takes on North in SEISC shootout

Jan 30, 2013

The Southeast Iowa Super Conference girls’ basketball “shootout” matchups have been decided.

The games pair the first-place team in the North Division against the first-place team in the South Division, the second-place teams against each other, and so on down the line.

All games are to be played on Friday, Feb. 1, at the South Division schools. A JV game will kick off the night at 6 p.m., with the varsity game to follow.

Winfield-Mt. Union will travel to Donnellson to play Central Lee in the second-place game. New London hosts the seventh-place game against Lone Tree, and WACO will be playing in the ninth-place game against Harmony in Farmington.

The first-place game will be Mediapolis at Notre Dame, and other pairings are as follows: Columbus at Van Buren (third); Pekin at Danville (fourth); Highland at Holy Trinity in Ft. Madison (fifth); Wapello at Cardinal in Eldon (sixth); and IMS at West Burlington (eighth).

Louisa-Muscatine, which is in 10th place in the North Division, will not have a game, as Maharishi, the South Division’s 10th school, does not have a girls’ basketball team.
