Three Panthers earn all-district honors

Three Mt. Pleasant gridders were given first team all-district honors for Class 3A District 7.

Carson Remick, Justin Dilks and Ben Canby were selected for their efforts this season.

Remick started at running back and at linebacker for the Panthers. The senior led the team with 137 tackles, the fourth-highest total in the class after nine games this year, and had five fumble recoveries.

He also led the Panthers in rushing yards with 350 in 72 tries, scoring three touchdowns on the ground.

Dilks, another senior, also started on both sides of the ball as a linebacker and tight end for the Panthers.

He had 65 tackles on the season, second on the team to Remick. He picked up 41 rushing yards and 34 receiving yards, and had a touchdown reception.

Canby, a Mt. Pleasant junior, was the Panthers’ punter and started on the defensive line as a tackle.

He averaged 37.4 yards per punt in 49 punts with a long of 56 yards.

He also made 41 tackles this season.
