Tiger athletics enhances ways to stay connected

With the launch of the Iowa Wesleyan University Athletic Department’s Vision “Committing to Excellence,” there has been an emphasis to improve the fan experience. The Tigers revamped the game day fan experience for those that could attend games last year, but this year, the focus has been shifted to those that may not be able to make it to a game.

This shift brings a new feature, as well as enhancing past offerings for fans. The Iowa Wesleyan Athletic Department is excited to introduce the Tiger Nation app, which will be available on ios and Android devices. Fans will have access to schedules, live streaming, news features, and much more right from their fingertips with the Tiger Nation app.

“I am excited to provide this capability to our students, student-athletes, parents, and fans of Tiger Athletics. With as much time as everyone spends on their phones, having the ability to create an app to give fans a way to have everything they need readily available is a great feature to have,” said Derek Zander, Interim Athletic Director.

Along with the new app, the live streaming experience will be expanded this year. IW will now have the capabilities to offer soccer and baseball/softball as a live streaming event. Previously, only football, basketball, and volleyball games were offered.

The Iowa Wesleyan Athletic Department will once again offer subscription services for fans to sign up for email and text alerts.

Zander also had the following to say about the other offerings available in Tiger Athletics. “The improvements to our live streaming and continued use of our email and text alerts were something that I felt we had to do. We have so many families that can’t make it to games, and we wanted to find a way to help cater to them. These features will be a great way to do that.”

This is the 3rd year our son has played football for IWU. We have attended as many as possible and always watched the streaming live. Hoping they have a great year and hope the town gets behind them. It means so much to the players to see the stands full. Go Tigers
