New London, Winfield-Mt. Union boys’ and girls’ golf

Tiger golf teams remain undefeated

NEW LONDON — The New London boys’ and girls’ golf teams took down Henry County foe Winfield-Mt. Union to remain undefeated on the season.

The Tiger boys shot a team total 168 on their home course to best the Wolves (173).

New London was led by medalist Tristan Kadel, who shot a 36.

Runner-up medalist honors were shared by New London’s Hagin Gillis and W-MU’s Jake Edwards.

Cole Helmerson carded a 45 for the Tigers, and the other three New London golfers — Kyle Hill, Cody Bartels and Jayden Flowers — each completed the Deerwood course in 47 strokes.

For W-MU, Klayton Booth shot a 43. Thayne McElhinney and Zach Davis each scored a 45 to round out the team score.

Kolt Rossiter scored 51, and Collin Gerling carded a 60 for the Wolves.

On the girls’ side of the meet, the Tigers scored 185 to claim a win over the Wolves (216).

With the wins, both the New London golf teams remain undefeated on the season at 4-0.

New London’s Morgan Oliver earned medalist honors with a score of 43.

She was followed closely by teammate Emma Pry, who completed the par-36 course in 44 strokes.

Jorgi Krieger recorded a score of 48 on her home course, and Paetyn Prottsman to complete the Tigers’ team score. Breanna Stevens shot a 55 for New London.

Grace Edwards led the W-MU girls with a score of 48.

She was followed by teammates Shelby Therme, who scored 52, and Nicole Escher, who carded a 53.

Sophie Kongable rounded out the Wolves’ team score with her round of 63.

Sam Jamison shot a 72 at the meet and Haley Rodgers scored 79.

The Wolves will be back on the golf course Tuesday. The teams travel to Durant for a meet that starts at 12:30 p.m.

The New London teams will also golf again Tuesday when they travel to Van Buren. The meet begins at 4 p.m.
