Tigers have Bears for dinner in Danville

New London girls smash three homers, McSorley shines for boys

DANVILLE — New London walked away with the double sweep of Danville on Tuedsay night. The softball team cruised to a 14-1 victory and the baseball team won 8-1.

The softball team played long ball in an electric offensive performance. Kara Krieger hit two homers on the night and finished with three RBIs, and Breanna Mettler crushed a grand slam.

Carson McSorley went 4-5 in the win. Sydni Coleman was 3-5. Camryn Blint, Alexa Wenger and Laney Loyd were all 2-4.

Coleman and Blint each saw the circle and gave up just five hits total. Coleman started and picked up the win.

The baseball team got a nice outing from Isaac McSorley, whos started on the mound and gave up just one hit and one walk over six innings of work. He struck out 11 batters on the night. Darius Whaley pitched the final inning and gave up one unearned run.

McSorley had a dinger of his own, sending a solo shot over the fence for one of his two hits on the day. Javis Krieger was 1-3 with two RBIs. Sam Loyd, Mason Porter and Whaley all knocked one runner in.
