Upcoming blood drives

Henry County will host a community blood drive from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the inside the meeting room at the E3 Center, located 1400 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant.

Faith Lutheran Church will host a community blood drive from 3 to 6 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 7, in the church’s Fellowship Hall, located at 910 Mapleleaf Drive, Mt. Pleasant.

Henry County Community will host an afternoon blood drive from 2 to 5:30 p.m., on

Thursday, Aug. 10, at the E3 Center, inside the meeting room, located at 1400 E. Washington St.

To donate, please contact the Blood Center at (800) 747-5401 Ext. 1281 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5026 to locate the drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. For questions about eligibility, please call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at (800) 747-5401. Donors who last gave blood on or before 6/6/17 are eligible to give at this drive.

Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
