WACO basketball swept by IMS

WAYLAND — Iowa Mennonite rolled through the WACO basketball teams on Tuesday night, topping the girls by a score of 50-29 and defeating the WACO boys, 51-33.

In the girls’ game, IMS allowed WACO just 11 points in the first half, and the Warriors couldn’t erase the deficit in the second half.

Aaliyah Brown paced WACO with 10 points and Jennie Greene chipped in eight.

WACO is now 5-9 on the season and 3-9 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division.

In the boys’ game, the Warriors trailed just 31-25 after the first two quarters, but IMS held its host to eight second-half points.

Braden Blake scored 11 to lead WACO and Dylan Carlson added eight points.

The WACO boys are now 4-9 overall and 3-7 in conference play.

The Warriors will play at Highland on Friday.
