Walk to end Alzheimer’s

The Alzheimer’s Association’s will hold a Walk to End Alzheimer’s team registration event on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Bent River Brewery in Burlington and Friday, Aug. 4, at Pizza Hut in Mt. Pleasant. Both events will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Individuals who are passionate about ending Alzheimer’s and dementia and want to make a difference in our community should join other community members by forming a team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which will be held on Saturday, October 14 at the Port of Burlington for the southeast Iowa area. Those interested in starting a team this Wednesday or Friday, will enjoy Hor’D’oeuvres, a cash bar, and learn how they can get involved in the fight against Alzheimer’s and dementia this year and how to lead a fundraising team of family, friends and co-workers to help end ALZ! Tips and assistance on how to start a team, recruit team members, start fundraising and more will be available. Team Captains who register a team also will receive a goody bag. All individuals who raise funds for the Walk have the opportunity to win cool prizes, ALZ gear and other items for raising funds to end the disease.

Volunteers are also needed to help plan the event and assist on Walk day.
