Wayland has fun for everyone July 4th

WAYLAND — The city of Wayland has made plans to celebrate the Fourth of July in a big way with events spanning the entire day.

Following is a list of events with times and locations;

6:30 – 9:30 a.m. — Lions Club breakfast at the Community Center

7:30 a.m. — Freedom Fun Run/Walk, starting at Central Park

10:30 a.m. — Parade on Main Street (“Hats off to America” theme)

After parade — Farmers and Merchants 75th anniversary celebration at the Community Center

12:30 p.m. — Firefighter water fights, tractors display, museum opens

1:30 p.m. — Tractor games

4:30 – 7 p.m. — Parkview benefit supper, 102 North Jackson Street

7:30 – 8:30 p.m. — Yankee Doodle family fun dance at the WACO football field

Dusk — Fireworks show at WACO football field

There will also be a city-wide scavenger hunt throughout the day.
