By Billie Jo Rose | May 25, 2018

Seven members of the Crawfordsville Wednesday Study Club enjoyed an “Exploring Day” in Fairfield, on Wednesday, May 16, as the club welcomed new member, Christine Stauffer.

The morning began with coffee at Revelations Cafe. Then tours of the Fairfield Arts and Convention center were arranged by program leader Cathy Williams and included the Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts, a guided driving tour of the Maharishi University including the Abundance Eco Village, a drive-by of some of the Vedic styled homes, Vedic City, the university campus, the Health Spa and a walk-through of the Maharishi Vedic Observatory.

The group’s tour guide, Terry Baker provided very interesting information throughout the morning.

Following the tours, the group returned to Revelations Cafe for a Dutch treat lunch. After lunch and a brief business meeting, the group toured the Carnegie Historical Museum guided by Mark Shaffer.

The museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum’s home is the first of 1,689 library buildings endowed by steel magnate, Andrew Carnegie. Many displays and collections are housed in the museum. The building is also a site for Indian Hills college classes.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, June 20, with the theme, “Share Your Favorite Day” or “What Makes You Happy?”
