This week’s ‘Friend on the Front Page’ is Jason Goody, from Safeguard Consultants.

Are you originally from Mt. Pleasant/Henry County? If not, what brought you here? Yes, I was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant.

What is your favorite part of living here? The people and my family. We know each other and care for each other.

What is your favorite local hangout? My back patio.

What do you like to do in your free time? When I am not with my family, I like to “tinker” around the house, clean and do odd jobs.

Is there an annual event in Mt. Pleasant/Henry County that you enjoy? I like volunteering and meeting new people at Old Threshers.

Is there something Mt. Pleasant doesn’t have that you’d like to see? A fine dining restaurant and putt-putt golf.

What is a local treasure in Mt. Pleasant/Henry County you wish more people knew about? The Oakland Mills Nature Center and camp ground.

What do you think is Mt. Pleasant/Henry County’s trademark? Old Threshers and Iowa Wesleyan University.

What’s one drink or dish that reminds you of Mt. Pleasant? Butch’s tenderloins.

Tell us something interesting about you? I like to camp and dutch oven cook. I enjoy hunting, yet I have not killed my first deer.
