Your Friend on the Front Page

Jul 07, 2017
Andrea Cook

Every week, the Mt. Pleasant News will feature a Henry County resident in a profile snapshot. The questions will appear in bold.

This week’s ‘Friend on the Front Page’ is Andrea Cook, whom you may know from Deputy County Auditor.

Are you originally from Mt. Pleasant/Henry County? If not, what brought you here? Yes, I was born and raised here on a hog farm.

What is your favorite part of living here? It is a small community where everyone knows one another and is friendly.

What is your favorite local hangout? When I do go out, I enjoy sitting on the patio at the Press box. I also enjoy sitting on the patio at Iris Bowling Center and Splitz; it is beautiful back there.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to hang out with family and friends.

Is there an annual event in Mt. Pleasant/Henry County that you enjoy? Yes! Old Threshers is my favorite. My family attends every day and I try to eat one of everything there.

What is your favorite summertime activity? Grilling with my family and friends, swimming at my parents’ pond and boating. I also enjoy watching my kids play baseball and softball, and watching my son race his mini sprint car.

What do you think is Mt. Pleasant/Henry County’s trademark? Definitely Old Threshers. It brings business to our small community. The town is crazy, but I love every minute of it.

Tell us something interesting about you. I like to golf, ride four-wheelers and help my dad in the fields pick seed corn and commercial corn.
