Every week, the Mt. Pleasant News will feature a Henry County resident in a profile snapshot. The questions will appear in bold.

This week’s ‘Friend on the Front Page’ is Chelsea Branch, whom you may know from Community First Credit Union.

Are you originally from Mt. Pleasant/Henry County? If not, what brought you here? Yep, born and raised.

What is your favorite part of living here? The small-town feel. Also, having lots of friends and family around.

What is your favorite local hangout? Out of the very few choices, probably the Pressbox Grill and Bar.

What do you like to do in your free time? Anything with my kids. And outdoor activities such as going to the pool and swimming. We also enjoy going to the park or over to a friend’s house.

Is there an annual event in Mt. Pleasant/Henry County that you enjoy? Old Threshers. I’ve been every year, but there’s always something new. There’s plenty of entertainment for my kids and my son loves the trains.

Is there something Mt. Pleasant doesn’t have that you’d like to see? More things to do or places to go like an outside cafe, putt-putt golf or an arcade.

What is your favorite summertime activity? Again, anything with my kids. We enjoy kayaking, floating, anything to do with the water.

What do you think is Mt. Pleasant/Henry County’s trademark? Either Old Threshers, or Iowa Wesleyan University — it holds so much history like Belle Babbs Mansfield.

What’s one dish or drink that reminds you of Mt. Pleasant? Sushi at Keos or the monster tenderloins at Butch’s River Rock Cafe.

Tell us something interesting about you? I was the first baby born in Henry County way back in 1989.
