Every week, the Mt. Pleasant News will feature a Henry County resident in a profile snapshot. The questions will appear in bold.

This week’s ‘Friend on the Front Page’ is Haley McDowell, whom you may know from Pad Thai.

Are you originally from Mt. Pleasant/Henry County? If not, what brought you here? Yes.

What is your favorite part of living here? I like the community. Even though it’s small there is always something going on.

What is your favorite local hangout? The Press Box is kind of the place to go; it has a great atmosphere.

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy practicing yoga and trying out new techniques.

Is there an annual event in Mt. Pleasant/Henry County that you enjoy? I love Rock for Autism. I like the awareness that it brings. My brother is non-verbal autistic so this is something that is very close to my heart.

Is there something Mt. Pleasant doesn’t have that you’d like to see? A mall.

What is your favorite autumn activity? I love going to pumpkin patches.

What do you think is Mt. Pleasant/Henry County’s trademark? Old Threshers.

What’s one dish or drink that reminds you of Mt. Pleasant? Steak and sweet corn.

Tell us something interesting about you? I’m a licensed massage therapist and work at Mirror Image (in Mt. Pleasant). I really like practicing massage techniques and learning new things about massage.
